So the rumor that was circulating around the police department was that my dad would be retiring soon is about to change.... to the rumor that he is going to be the next chief. 20+ years on the job he has gone from a lowly officer to the brink of guiding the second largest city in the county. It's not set in stone, but the current chief pretty much said, without really saying, that he was going to retire a few and my dad would be the top canidinate. that's pretty freaking rad :).
